At St. Alban’s we strive to grow in our relationship with God, both as individuals and as church. A key part of that growth is Christian formation/education. Christian formation is a lifelong process of learning, developing and growing, which includes education for both children and adults. But true Christian Formation is actually more than merely a process of learning and acquiring knowledge or information. It involves forming us as disciples of Jesus Christ and equipping us to “do the work (he has) given us to do; to love and serve (God) as faithful witnesses of Christ our Lord.” BCP pg. 366.

Our Christian formation/education hour is held September –May and begins at 9:00 AM, between the two services.

In adult formation we strive to foster an informal atmosphere which is conducive to discussion and welcoming of questions. We have discussed the Book of Common Prayer; its history, its content and how we use it, the Christmas gospels, the origins of Lent among other topics.

We are currently going through the book of Revelations.

St. Alban's begins a new year of Christian formation on Sunday, September 10. This year's program is called the Path - A Journey Through the Bible. Over 26 weeks it will give us an overview of the whole biblical story, showing us how God has acted in the lives of His people throughout history to call us back to Him, when we have wandered away. It is an engaging and discussion based program aimed at helping us to see the whole of the biblical narrative and inviting us to see how God calls to each of us through His written Word.

The third through seventh grade Sunday School class produced an infomercial answering two questions: "What's so great about St. Alban's?" and "Where is God?" Watch to see what the kids learned and wanted to share!
